Students discuss what it means to be responsible. As a class, they brainstorm a list of how they are responsible in their daily lives. In groups, they read the story of Liliuokalani and locate Hawai'i on a map. They discuss the responsiblility of keeping a baby that is the product of a rape and compare and contrast the cultures of the mainland United States and Hawai'i.
