Birds help other birds find food? Scholars are placed into one of five groups of different birds. Each group then "feeds" on letters of paper in a field and gather five pieces per person. As each group plays, more food is exposed, helping the remaining groups find food easier. Participants see how some organisms assist others in finding food in the final part of a two-part series.

Instructional Ideas
- Discuss what would happen if these organisms didn't help each other; how would their populations or the ecosystem be different?
Classroom Considerations
- Teachers need an area outside that is 100 feet long by 25 feet wide
- Requires 500 small pieces of paper with letters written on them; ask classes or other teachers for help in writing these
Pros
- Students are outside, running around and learning
- Interesting concept because most individuals know mutualistic relationships, but cooperative feeding is one not commonly taught; therefore, this is engaging to classes
Cons
- None
