Frederica Annis Lopez de Leo de Laguna (1904-2004) (at left) was an anthropologist associated in 1937 with the University of Pennsylvania Museum; she had studied at Columbia during the late 1920s and had done groundbreaking research in Alaska in 1930s with Danish ethnologist Kaj Birket-Smith (1893-1977) (at right).
