Build up a bag of green. Pupils determine the number of green Skittles in a snack bag and come up with a way to determine how many snack bags it would take to create one bag of only green Skittles. Classmates share their methods and numbers with each other and find another representation of the mathematical relationship. Each scholar then creates a poster explaining the process and solution to the task.

Instructional Ideas
- Lead a discussion at the beginning of the lesson to clarify the expectation
- Brainstorm methods to arrive at the most accurate estimate for the total number of packages of candy
Classroom Considerations
- Assumes learners know how to represent mathematical relationships in more than one way
Pros
- Includes a benchmark solution
- Contains a rubric for scoring the task
Cons
- Still has the rubric and checklist for the creation of the resource that may be confused as the rubric for scoring the task
