Sixth graders will explore the role of failure in finding success. In this set, 6th graders learn that success takes hard work, deliberate practice, and the ability to learn from failures and persevere. Students explore how an author's word choice, use of evidence, and selected organization reflect a text's purpose, which they can use as a model for their own writing. Finally, students will explore the texts to consider for themselves what it takes to succeed.
