Rate Distortion

In this rate distortion worksheet, students solve 4 different sets of problems that include defining the rate distortion curve in various situations. They construct a rate distortion curve by plotting and angle against a particular line segment as given. Then, students create a statement for a maximal acceptable percentage distortion. They also pick an image, show 5 progressively finer resolutions of the image, and construct by selecting a set of coefficients that get larger.
