The zoologist Ann Haven Morgan (1882-1966) began her career as an assistant to Cornelia Clapp at Mt. Holyoke College. After receiving a Ph.D. from Cornell University (1912), Morgan did research at the Marine Biological Laboratory and taught at Mt. Holyoke. She was the author of Fieldbook of Ponds and Streams (1930) and Animals in Wonder (1939). After retiring from Mt. Holyoke, she moved to California and became known for her contributions to environmental conservation
