Welcome to Martha's STEM Stories! STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. You may already know that doing STEM means testing ideas, collecting data, making calculations, and drawing graphs and charts-but you may not have known that doing STEM means sharing ideas as well! In this week-long unit, children will investigate science and math topics like recycling, transportation, measuring, and inventing. As they explore each new STEM idea, children will learn relevant vocabulary and develop their writing and communications skills by working on posters, oral histories, recipes, how-to's, and newspaper articles.
