Based off of the hit television show NUMB3RS, this lesson, designed for upper-level high school students, has students linearize the data describing the force of a magnet at various distances. While it is assumed students already know how to use the regression functions of their graphing calculators, this lesson presents a method in which the data transforms from an inverse cube relationship to a strictly linear one. Students work individual with their calculators in this lesson.
