Based off of the hit television show NUMB3RS, this lesson deals with lattice points, and the visibility of lattice points from other lattice points. The lesson is framed in the context of a leader and his audience, in which every member (leader and audience) is located at a lattice point on a grid. The leader wants to maximize the number of audience members he can see, and so the problem is set in motion. Concepts of slope are presented, and many of the problems have more than one answer, leading to good student discussions.
