Based off of the hit television show NUMB3RS, this lesson builds upon the familiar d=rt formula for distance to include elements of acceleration as well. The lesson is framed in the context of traffic flow theory, but makes some very limiting assumptions so that the mathematics can be accessible to high school students. Students will create a spreadsheet of data calculated about a single car on the road (which is, of course, accelerating).
