Youth Risk Behavior Survey Curriculum

Collector: Ann V.

Five units comprise the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) Curriculum unit module for high schoolers. Learners investigate bullying and school safety data, study the effects of stress and learn different ways to manage stress, and explore the relationship between a positive sense of self-worth and healthy relationships. The fourth unit in the YRBS curriculum focuses on healthy eating and exercise, while the last unit examines why the teenage brain is more impacted by substance abuse. Funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the data used in this unit module is for Florida schools; however, data for other participating states can be accessed from the program’s website YRBSS - Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System - DASH/HealthyYouth).
